Sandra "Sandy" K Lowe

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Lowe of Ione, CA, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the age of 68. She was born in Tampa, FL on November 18, 1945 to the late Ralph and Marjorie (Hay) Chambers. Sandy and Stephen Lowe were class mates at Camden High School in San Jose, CA. They graduated in 1964; Stephen joined the U.S. Marine Corps. and served during the Vietnam War. The couple was married on September 3, 1966 in San Jose, CA. Sandy worked for Lucent Technologies as a specification writer for software and a marketing supervisor for Lifeguard Insurance. In 1974 Steve and Sandy purchased a chicken ranch in OR and a commercial greenhouse where they grew Rabbits Foot Fern. All the fern in their backyard in Ione were started at the greenhouse. Sandy and Stephen moved back to San Jose and Corporate America in 1978. Stephen retired in April 2005 and moved Sandy to Ione to retire. She enjoyed playing penny slots at the Jackson Rancheria and golfed as long as she could. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stephen Lowe of Ione; sister-in-law, Dianne Lowe of CA; and mother-in-law, Wanda Lowe of UT. At the family’s request there will be no services.
