Sandra Joan Ross VanDeusen

Sandra Joan Ross VanDeusen, 66, of Amsterdam, Rd., Scotia, passed away Sunday November 29, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 20, 1949 a daughter of Henry and Jackey (Hammond) Ross Sr. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. She was a graduate of the former Perth Central High School in 1967. Sandra was employed as a Professional Fundraiser for Capital District Callers in Glenville, NY. She also worked for over 20 years at G.E. in Schenectady and also was owner and operator of her family's business, Ross' Bait Shop in Amsterdam, NY. Sandra was an avid bowler in various leagues in Amsterdam. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to flowers and working outside in her yard. She was an avid Yankees fan and New England Patriots fan. Sandra also enjoyed watching and following NASCAR. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Samantha J. VanDeusen of Scotia, NY. Her dear father, Henry Ross Sr. of Hagaman, NY. One brother, Henry D. "Beaver" (Maria) Ross of Mayfield, NY. Four sisters, Cynthia J. Ross of Amsterdam, Melinda J. Ross of Amsterdam, Pamela J. Ross of Hagaman, NY and Melissa J. Ross of Amsterdam. One Aunt, Elizabeth "Betty" Ross of Hagaman, NY. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Sandra was recently predeceased by her niece, Dallas Nicole Sperow on October 26, 2015. She was also predeceased by her mom, Jackey Ross. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 4, 2015 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. John Califano presiding. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. at the funeral home.
