Sandra "Sandy" Elizabeth Stone

Carlisle - The Rev. Sandy Elizabeth Stone, 65, passed away Friday February 4, 2022. She was born on December 23, 1956 in Charleston, West Virginia to Evelyn Humphrey McCarty and the late Richard Stone. She was formerly the Rector of St. Martha’s, as well as, the executive director of Cedar Hill Retreat Center in Nicholas County, KY. Sandy was ordained in 1999, and served St. Michael the Archangel in Lexington until 2005 when she and a group of people who support retreat ministry created Cedar Hill Retreat Center. From 2005 until 2010 she simultaneously served Cedar Hill and as rector of Church of the Advent in Cynthiana, KY. Sandy is survived by her husband Terry Durbin, three children, two grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was the steward of 10 dogs, 14 goats and over 30 chickens. She loved being a wannabe farmer at Cedar Hill Retreat Center. Final arrangements are currently being made.www.clarklegacycenter.com
