Sanford "Sandy" Maxson
November 18th, 1929 - December 21st, 2022
Sanford (Sandy) Maxson, age 93 years, passed away on December 21st, 2022. Sandy was born in Cleveland Ohio on November 18th, 1929. He attended Ohio State University and served in the military in Korea as a corporal in the Army. Sandy worked in the wastepaper and recycling business in Canton Ohio until he retired in 1996 to Hilton Head Island, SC. He had a lifelong passion for traveling and loved playing golf and good food. He enjoyed volunteering at the Paris Island Museum for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carole, and his two sons; Jonathan Maxson (Karen) and Robert Maxson (Wendy), and grandson; Adam Maxson (Carly) and granddaughter; Michelle Glazer (Norman), and great-grandson; Brooks Maxson and great-granddaughter; Millie Maxson. The Committal Service at Beaufort National Cemetery will be held on Friday February 3rd at 10 AM. Contributions in his memory may be made to tunnel2towers.org, The American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
