Santana “Tana” Garcia, 52, of Greeley, Colorado, was called home on September 7, 2022, in Greeley Tana was born in Greeley on January 10, 1970, to Lupe and Maggie Garcia, and lived his entire life in the area. He was the kind of person everyone needs in life, full of smiles and laughter. Even if it was the first time he met you, you knew you were a friend for life. One of the kindest and most generous souls, who wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. Tana met the love of his life, Nina Garcia, in December 1988. The two were inseparable from the time they first met. They went on to have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. His family was his life, blood or not. He took pride in being the best Papa he could be and loved his two sidekicks with all his heart. There was no stopping him from fulfilling his duties as a papa, not even his declining health. An avid sports fan, he never missed a game. Especially when his Bills or great nieces and nephews were playing. The competitive side of him sparked at the early age of 5. This is when his boxing career began with his dad as his coach by his side. He secured a spot as a Platteville jabber and went on to win the silver mitts, Golden gloves, and regionals in New Mexico. Soon his love for the game expanded to baseball and football, then softball and backyard kickball came later in life. Tana is survived by his loving wife Nina; children, Breana, Matthew, and Nicklas Garcia; granddaughters, Tatyana Garcia, and Thailiah Ruiz; siblings, John (Candy), and Linda Garcia; aunt, Linda (Antonio) Garcia; In-laws Lee (Janie) Zamora, Carolyn (Dave) Asevedo, Esther (Robert) Morales, and Michael (Lulu) Zamora, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Lupe and Maggie; sister Mary Ellen Garcia; uncles Andres and Antonio Garcia. A Rosary will be held at 5pm on Thursday September 15 at Northern Colorado Crematory, 700 8th St. in Greeley, CO 80631 A Celebration of Life will be at 10 am on Friday September 16, 2022, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W 16th St, Greeley, CO 80634 To leave condolences with Santana “Tana’s” family visit NCCcremation.com
