Santos Lopez Sr

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Santos Lopez Sr., a beloved resident of Waukesha and originally from Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico. Santos departed this world on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on April 9, 1952, to Jose Lopez (De LeCerda) and Guadalupe Hernandez, Santos was the cherished grandson of Augustine Lopez, Catarina De La Cerda, Guadalupe Hernandez, and Camila Rodriguez. Santos is now reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Angelita Escobedo, who passed away on August 24, 2020, and his heavenly father. Santos and Angelita were united in marriage on July 9, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas. Their journey together took them from Connecticut, where they were blessed with their children, to Waukesha, WI, where they lovingly raised their family. A true gentleman and master craftsman of concrete, Santos found joy in carpentry, fishing, and gardening. His love for dance was evident in the cherished moments spent dancing with his wife. Known affectionately as Tio Santos, Don Santos, Apa, and Dad, he leaves behind a legacy of love, guidance, and hard work. Santos instilled in his children and others the values of respect and dignity. Santos Lopez Sr. is survived by his sisters Rita Lopez and Antonia Lopez, and his children: Santos Lopez Jr., Adrian Augustin (Rebecca) Lopez, and Adam (LaLa) Lopez. He was preceded in death by his wife Angelita Escobedo, sisters Juanita Lopez, Santana Lopez, Catalina Lopez, Marla Del Refugio Lopez, daughter Veronica Marie Lopez, and adopted grandson Gunner Streff. The Lopez family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time. Santos leaves behind a vast and loving extended family, including the Familia Lopez-Hernandez, Lopez-Escobedo, Aguilar-Lopez, Lopez-Mendez, Mendoza-Lopez, Ramon-Lopez, Gutierrez-Lopez, and Garza-Lopez. A celebration of Santos Lopez Sr.'s life will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024 a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the start of services at 11:00 a.m. at Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home 237 N Moreland Blvd Waukesha, WI 53188. A second celebration of Santos Lopez Sr.'s life will be held privately on Saturday April 13th, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm at the families home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to cover funeral expenses. May Santos rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he shared with all who knew him.
