Sara B. Honey Gallegos Valencia

Valencia, Sara B. Gallegos "Honey" was born in Chama, NM on Feb. 11, 1921. A well know Cosmetologist and business woman of 45 years. On June 7, 2016 at the age of 95, surrounded by loving family at home went peacefully to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Abel Gallegos and Maria Sarah Herrera-Gallegos, her late husband, Delfin Valencia, grandchildren, Annette and Randy Valencia, siblings, Abe, Phil, Ralph and Manuel Gallegos, Beronice Wells and Frances Pena. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children: son, Anthony Del, granddaughter Antoinette; son, Leo, grandson Mark and wife Jenny, great-grandchildren Ethan, Elena and Kimberly; daughter, Belinda, CR Murphy, great-granddaughters Tarah and Angelina; daughter, Anna and husband Dan Heavner, grandson, Jeremy and wife Shayla, great-grandchildren Rylee, Abbi and Alden; daughter, Susan and husband Ric Salter and granddaughter Alicia; sister, Rose Naranjo; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews. Sarah was a graduate of Spanish American Normal School in El Rito, NM, and the homecoming queen in 1940. She went on to get her diploma in Cosmetology. In 1972 she graduated from TVI with an Accounting degree. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and a member of the American Business Women's Assoc. Sarah enjoyed cooking and sharing her childhood stories as well as her adventures to Spain, Africa and Hawaii. We will miss her smile and her caring loving heart. Her unshakeable faith in the Lord taught us that "Life is fragile, handle it with prayer." Mass will be at 11:00am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chama, NM on Saturday, June 25th.
