March 10th, 1928 - August 14th, 2016
CHARLOTTE- Sara Blythe Williamson Horn ("Sister"), daughter of Grace Frazier and Franklin Jackson Blythe born March 10, 1928 in Charlotte, NC passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. She was a graduate of Fairfax Hall in Virginia and Queens University of Charlotte. In addition to her parents and brothers, Dick and Jack Blythe, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Vardell Williamson in February 1999, and Clarence Fletcher Horn in February 2016. She is survived by her four daughters, Sally Porter and husband Rick, Buffa Short, Gaye Kester, ViVi Anderson and husband John, all of Charlotte; her eight beloved grandchildren Bryan Porter and wife Nicki, Neal Porter and wife Sarah, Nicole Short Ruth and husband Chris, Sara Short McCullough and husband Daniel, Allison Kester Bolick, Justin Kester, Yeatts Anderson and wife Amanda, Blythe Anderson McAulay and husband Matt; ten great-grandchildren, Davis and Henry Porter, Jacks Porter, Graycen and Charley Ruth, Chase and Ashland Bolick, Canan, Addie, and Cooper Anderson; as well as nieces, nephews, wonderful caregivers and the countless friends who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church on August 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service in Oxford Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarah Locke Blythe Scholarship Fund at Queens University of Charlotte, 1900 Selwyn Ave, Charlotte NC 28274; and Watauga Humane Society, 312 Paws Way, Boone, NC 28607.
