Sarah Ellen Blevins, 94, of Salinas, passed away peacefully at home Friday, Sept. 4, 2009. She was born Jan. 19, 1915 in Bisbee, Arizona. Ellen was owner and operator of Artistic Beauty Salon for 30 years. She enjoyed travel extensively, her family, children and Grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to church and doing Volunteer work at resthomes. She was the pillar of her family and everyone relied on her vast knowledge and strength. Survivors Daughter, Dorothy (John) Cruysen, Daughter-in-law Nancy Blevins. Grandchildren; Danny (Jan) Blevins, Jim Blevins, Patty (Robert) Hill, Sandy (David) Wilder, Ronald Cruysen, Tracy Cruysen, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Blevins, 1982, her son, Darrell Blevins, 2006, two sisters and three brothers. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
