Sarah Kate Conrad Gurley

Sarah Kate Conrad Gurley, 79, passed peacefully into the care of her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2012 in her home in Tampa, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and granddaughter Amelia. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband of 59 years, Dr. Max L. Gurley; children, Alisa (Glen) Mewborn, Cynthia (Joe ) McPhee, Annette Beebe, Amy Capozzi, Tim (Angel) Gurley; step-son Larry (Jane) Minkler; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Tony, Nicole, Max, Alexis, Antonia, Audrey; one great-grandchild, Vincent; brother, Wayne Conrad of Dothan, AL, her Church family, and extended relatives and treasured friends. Sarah enjoyed simple things in life. Her family and her Lord and Savior especially had a place in her heart. Sarah enjoyed spending her time listening to music, watching Tampa Bay Bucs football, fishing, sewing, crochet, puzzles, cooking southern fried food and caring for her beloved family. She was a selfless and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother and never said an unkind word. She set the quintessential example for her children to live by. We will miss her infectious smile and her bright blue eyes. We will think of her whenever "The Sound of Music" is on. A Celebration of her Life will be held, Saturday at 2 p.m. in Florida Mortuary, 4601 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, FL 33603.
