Leave a tribute

Sarah I Cooper transitioned home for her eternal rest on February 2, 2024. Sarah was born to James and Laura Davis on August 13, 1928 in Hancock County, Georgia. She was the youngest of 8 children, whom all have preceded her in death. Sarah relocated to St. Petersburg at an early age where she received her early education and was a graduate of Gibbs High School. Sarah accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. She later united with Stewart-Isom Memorial C.M.E. Church. She was a devoted and loyal member, and SHE LOVED HER CHURCH. Sarah was a teacher of children's Sunday school classes for many decades. In addition, she sang in the Sanctuary Choir, served on the church's Trustee board, was a member of the LAY Auxiliary, the Hospitality Committee, etc. She would make herself available to assist in whatever the situation, even if it included janitorial services. She liked everything to be spotless and tidy. Many times she was a delegate to church conventions and conferences state wide and other locations. She really enjoyed attending those meetings and representing her church. Sarah worked as retail assistant for Diana Shops for many years. Her last employment ended as housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. Al Underberg and Robert and Beth Webb. Mother Sarah entered my life approximately 50 years ago. Our relationship became more loving and stronger over the years. I already miss her and I will always miss her. On Friday, February 2, 2024, Sarah was called home to her mansion in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, brothers, Elmo, Leo, Willie, Otis, Harold and George. Two precious sisters, Emma and Annie. Those left to cherish her memories are her Step-daughter, Joyce (Samuel) Cummings of San Diego, CA, grandson, Maurice (Dee) Cummings of WA., DC and great grandson, Zyon Cummings of WA., DC. Nephews, Willie Davis Sr (Margaret), Stanley Davis, Leo Davis, Jr; niece Nanda Cherry; extended family James and Betsy Davis. Also loving memories are shared by her great nieces and great nephews, and special friends.
