Obituary Sarah "Sally" Louisa Manning, 56, of Lexington, Kentucky and wife of James "Jim" Isaac Lowry IV, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012. She was born on March 26, 1956 in Marietta, Georgia to Dr. and Mrs. James Manning of Georgia. In addition to her husband and parents, Sally is survived by her stepchildren, Alicyn Isaac-Lowry of New York and Jacob Isaac-Lowry of Hawaii; brothers, Benjamin and Scott Manning, both of Georgia; her nephews and nieces, Josie, Ben, Will, Macy and Marielle Manning; and her three dogs, Shyster, So Sioux Me and Violation. Sally graduated from Auburn University. She earned her juris doctor from Cumberland School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. Sally began her career as a prosecutor with the Cobb County District Attorney's Office in Marietta, GA before moving to Lexington, KY in 1984. In 1985, Sally was the first prosecutor hired by Fayette County Commonwealth Attorney Ray Larson. She remained in that position until 1993 when she became the chief felony prosecutor for Fayette County Attorney Margaret Kannensohn. In 2008, Sally resigned from that position and ran for District Judge. Sally returned to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office in 2010, concluding her legal career in Kentucky where it began. Sally also had a profound impact on the community by serving on the Board of Directors for both the Good Samaritan Foundation and Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky. Her courage and determination inspired all those who knew and loved her. Sally's quick wit and sense of humor always kept her one step ahead of the rest of us. We will miss you as we forever try to catch up. Funeral Information Memorial Service will be 1 pm, Thursday, November 1, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
