Saul Ortiz Sr. & Ana M. Ortiz

Ana M. Ortiz, 67, passed away on June 3, 2021, and her beloved husband, Saul Ortiz Sr; 64, passed away on June 12, 2021, both due to a courageous battle with COVID-19. Ana was born in Panama and Saul was born in Puerto Rico. Ana and Saul joined in Holy Matrimony on December 3, 1984, and began raising their family here in Amsterdam. Saul proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1979 to 1985, and continued active service until 2006. Survived by their loving children Saul Ortiz Jr; Joseph Ortiz, Yaneth Ortiz, Ana (Sam) Doctor, and Caroline (Edward) Perez all of Amsterdam. Survived by eleven grandchildren Analaudy Cartagena Ortiz, Laudiana Cartagena Ortiz, Rosa Delia Oquendo Ortiz, Ana Rosa Oquendo Ortiz, Gianna Mae Ortiz, Jaslee De’Mari Cage, Sammy Randy Doctor, Shyanna Marie Doctor, Jeremiah Sam Doctor, Eyalani Roseana Valentin-Perez, Symphony Nayeli Valentin-Perez. Also by three great grandchildren Cameron Marshall Lee Murray, Savanna May McCarty, and Luciana Rose Martinez. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Thursday June 17, 2021 from 10 am to 12 noon. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial for Ana and Saul will follow in the family plot of the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
