Scott Chandler Slye
January 31st, 1957 - August 8th, 2024
Scott Chandler Slye, born on January 31, 1957, at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on August 8, 2024, at Pikes Peak Hospice.
Scott grew up as an Army kid, moving all around the country. His parents eventually settled in Virginia Beach, VA, during his high school years, where he made many lifelong friends and formed future family ties. Scott had a love for the beach and surfing and graduated from First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach, VA, in 1976.
Scott had a decorated military career, serving with the Air Force Special Operations Command for 14 years. His career took his family from Langley AFB to Hickam AFB and MacDill AFB. After his military service, he moved to Colorado Springs during the .com boom in the early 1990s. Colorado Springs quickly became home. He was currently employed with the State of Colorado, working directly with the Department of Corrections as a business analyst. He truly enjoyed his work and the friends he had made. He was looking forward to retirement in the coming months to spend more time with his family and friends.
Scott deeply loved his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. His free time was filled with attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and performances. He made a deliberate effort to ensure everyone knew how much he loved them, how proud he was of them, and how much he believed in them.
Scott is survived by his daughters, Stacey Brandon (Mark Brandon) and Audrey Ribley (Robert Ribley Jr.); his adored grandchildren, Ashlynn, William, Addison, Cooper, Scott, and Brystal; and his sister, Susan Fabiano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Judith Slye.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
