Scott Alan Weaver
May 27th, 1962 - August 14th, 2024
Scott Alan Weaver, 62, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2024. Scott was born on May 27, 1962 to Ken Weaver and Dana Olivier Weaver in Emporia, Kansas. The family moved to Denver shortly after and Scott grew up in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Scott attended Jefferson High School in Edgewater where he was an outstanding student and excelled in tennis, basketball and baseball. After Scott graduated from Jefferson in 1980, he went on to study at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. After graduating with a degree in Education/Physical Education and Mathematics, Scott began his teaching and coaching career at Frederick High School north of Denver. Scott established himself as an outstanding teacher and coach at Frederick before moving on to Golden High School and eventually Lakewood High School where he became an important part of the Tiger community as well as a highly successful and respected baseball and tennis coach. Scott’s children, Talon and Rachel were an important part of his life and as kids they spent countless hours with Scott both eventually attending Lakewood with him. In 2017, Scott retired from education and spent his time loving golf, organizing golf outings and fantasy football/baseball leagues, working part time at Creighton Middle School and enjoying friends and family. Scott was predeceased by his father Kenneth Weaver and his Weaver and Olivier grandparents. Scott is survived by Talon (son), Rachel (daughter), Dana Weaver (mother), Michael Weaver (brother), Susan Weaver (sister in-law) Matthew, Emily and Wesley Weaver (nephew/nieces) , numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and a huge circle of friends. . A Celebration of Life honoring Scott will be held at Applewood Golf Club on Wednesday, August 28th at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Scott and the family request that donations be made to a GoFundMe Account - “Help Scott’s Family Start Anew” as we provide support for this next chapter
