McKiernan, Sean 82, Born in County Cavan, Ireland and passed away on February 1st, 2011 with his devoted wife Eleanor at his side. Sean was a Korean veteran with the rank of SGT and instructor with the US Army Signal Corps. He worked for John Hancock Life for 43 years. He had earned a brokerage license, also a license with the SEC as an investment and financial advisor. Sean was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, served as Grand Knight, and was an honorary life member of the 4th Degree Knights. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians since 1952 and currently with the A.O.H. Division 2, Greene Co., NY and a member of the American Legion for 15 years with the Durham Valley Post #1416. Sean was the father of Kevin J. McKiernan, Alanna and Geralyn, and their spouses. He was grandfather to four granddaughters. He is also survived by his sister Bridgid of Ireland, and brother Gabriel of Bayside, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be February 15, 2011 at 11am at St. Justin, Martyr Catholic Church at 10851 Ridge Road, Largo. Military Honors to follow at Bay Pines Nat'l Cemetery. A memorial will be held at a later date in East Durham by the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Justin, Martyr or Our Lady of Knock Shrine, East Durham, NY where Sean was a Eucharistic Minister and Lectorer. Reese Funeral Home 391-9954
