Sean Clayton Sawyers

SAWYERS, Sean Clayton, 23, of Wesley Chapel, FL passed away Saturday, January 14 2017. Born in Great Falls Montana Sean and his family moved to Florida in 1996. He graduated from Wiregrass Ranch High School in 2011 and was a junior at Pasco-Hernando State College majoring in Criminal Justice. At the age of seventeen Sean enlisted in the Air Force Reserve and was assigned to the 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida. Sean was then assigned to the 927th Security Forces Squadron, MacDill AFB, as a fire team member. In his civilian position Sean was a Critical Infrastructure Anti-Terrorism Officer for Critical Intervention Services at facilities throughout South Florida. In 2012-2013 as a Senior Airman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Sean deployed to Bagram Air Base in Parwan Province, Afghanistan and Kandahar Air Base, Afghanistan. While deployed in support of Operation Combat Hammer Sean was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal. Sean recently participated in Naval Special Warfare Exercise SOCOM Trident-16, training at Camp Roberts, San Miguel, California. Sean's additional military awards and medals include the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, and the NATO Medal. Sean is survived by his loving parents, Tim and Chanda; brother, Brian; aunts and uncles, Linda and Norman Connolly, William and Eden Sawyers, Cathy Ankony and Susan Sawyers. Sean will be forever loved by cousins, Jon Planko, Catherine, Bobby and Michael Ankony, Patrick, John, Chris, David, James, Daniel and Joseph Sawyers. Services will be held Monday, January 23, 2017, Loyless Funeral Home, 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd, Land O'Lakes, FL 34639. Visitation will be 1:00pm and a service with military honors at 2:00 p.m.
