Sean A. Thomas

Sean A. Thomas, 46, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Albany Medical Center. Sean was born in Amsterdam, NY on December 17, 1977, to Walter and Peggy (Going) Thomas. He resided in Amsterdam his entire life and attended Amsterdam High School. After school, Sean began his lifelong career of becoming a craftsman. Sean worked as a mechanic, welder, electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc. He was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help someone in need. Sean spent over 20 years with the love of his life, Nicole Cadwell. Together they raised six children and created a home full of love and laughter. Everyone described Sean as the Life of the Party because he was always ready for a good time. He enjoyed playing darts and spending time with his many friends and family. He also loved to be outdoors and would take his wife and children camping regularly. Sean had many friends locally and from around the world. Everywhere he went, someone would recognize Sean. He always appreciated the friends he made along the way and loved them like family. He is predeceased by his father Walter Thomas and his sister Shannon Anne Thomas. Sean is survived by his wife Nicole Cadwell; sons Shane and Blaze Cadwell, Chad, Brody, and Kade Thomas; daughter Baylee Thomas; mother Peggy Thomas; Aunt Cindy Demitraszek; Uncle John (Ginni) Going; many lifelong friends; as well as a niece, nephew, and several cousins. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 11am to 1pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A private burial will be held at St Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support Seans children’s college fund.
