July 1st, 1922 - January 12th, 2012
Segundina B. Guanzon-Saragoza, 89, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on January 12, 2012 in Salinas. She was born on July 1, 1922 in Palompon, Leyte, Philippine Islands. She was a parishoner and member of the St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church as well as an active member of many local community cultural orginizations which included the Filipino Community of Salinas Valley, Inc. (Life Member), Filipino Women's Club of Salinas (Life Member), Pangasinan Organization of Central California, Palomponangon Assoc. USA, Visayan Trust, Fil-Am. Civic League of Salinas (Life Member), 1st and 2nd Filipino Regiments and the Fil-Am. Catholic Association of Salinas. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Roque Saragoza of Salinas; daughters, Fran (Skip) Hart and Josie (Larry) Guanzon-Ringor all of Mountain View and Esper Guanzon of Houston, TX; brothers, Jose Buhion of the Philippines and Ben Buhion of Salinas; sister, Dominga Buhion of the Philippines; grandchildren, Kathy(Dennis II), Tony, Icoy (Gemma), Airrion (Michelle) and Lala: great-grandchildren, B.J., Dennis III, Makayla, Stephanie and Jazzlyn, along with numerous god-children, nieces and nephews - Buhions, Arroyos and Mendozas. She is preceded in death by her former first husband, Francisco Guanzon; two sisters and one brother. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 1-9pm with a Rosary Recital at 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 20, 2012 1pm at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA 93906. Burial to follow funeral services at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
