Seymour "Sy" Silverman
June 21st, 1929 - December 30th, 2013
Seymour "Sy" Silverman, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013. Sy was born June 21, 1929 in Newark NJ to the late Sidney and the late Ethel (Nisenson) Silverman. Sy served in the US Army and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He worked as a route accounting supervisor for Sparkletts Water. While living in Los Angeles, in his leisure time, Sy graduated from the LA Police Academy and worked as a LAPD reservist for 9 years. After moving to Sun City Summerlin, Sy worked as a fitness center greeter. Sy is survived by his wife Shevelyn "Shirley" Silverman; children Jeffrey Silverman and Marilyn (Graham) Peach and sister Barbara (Harold) Chichester. A funeral service and interment will take place at 10:40 AM on Tuesday, January 7 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. Contributions in Sy's memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
