Bennett, Sharon Cecile, 57, resident of Atascadero, CA, formerly of Seaside and Astoria, Oregon died Monday October 29, 2012 in Atascadero. She was born November 10, 1954, in Southhampton, Long Island, NY to Robert Myron Bennett and Elaina C. (Pruser) Macaulay. Her mother survives, residing in Seaside. Her father preceded her in death. Family members called her “Rose of Sharon”, and said Ms. Bennett’s talents included baking bread, cooking, Scherenschnitte (intricate paper cutting), gardening and embroidery. She loved long walks, the ocean and relaxing in warm sunshine. She is survived by her daughter Jana Vorasicky of Seaside,OR; her grandson, Carver Terrill of Seaside,OR; three sisters, Carole Repp of Warrenton,OR, Maureen Hayden of Everett, WA and Laurie Griffes of Bend,OR ; a niece Jessica Krieck of Bend,OR ; two nephews Cougar Griffes of Bend,OR and Barry R. Knight of Del Mar, CA; an uncle, Walter Strohmaier of New Jersey; and several relatives from her father’s side most residing in Long Island. A private farewell ceremony was held November 3rd at The Cove in Seaside. A public memorial to honor her life will be announced at a later date.
