Sharon Lee Howell

Sharon Lee Howell, 64, passed away December 14, 2017 in Olympia, Washington. She was born December 4, 1953 to James Garfield Bates and Liz Dora Bates in San Diego, California. Over the years, she lived in Washington (1996-2017), Idaho (1992-1996), Connecticut (1989-1992), South Carolina (1986-1989) and California (1975-1986). A proud military wife, Sharon also was a medical assistant, veterinary assistant, para educator, and employee of the Washington State Department of Corrections. However, her family was her life. She was a loving wife and protective mother. Her outlook was “Don’t mess with my kids.” She had 13 grandkids whom she adored and loved fiercely; she made them all coming home outfits. Sharon loved to knit and crochet, was a beautiful artist, and was very crafty. Sharon was a strong willed, loyal and honest person. She was compassionate to all life, and an animal lover. Her laugh could light up a room. She was an amazing person who will be greatly missed. She touched many lives. She is survived by daughters, Annahshane Antonson, Holly Strecker, Caroline Trepanier, and Stefany Howell; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; and sisters, Michelle Whalen and Melissa Bates.
