Sharon Rue LaFrance

Sharon Rue LaFrance, 72, of Greeley, CO passed away June 11, 2020 at her home in Greeley. She was born on January 18, 1948 in Grand Forks, ND to Elinor H. Torgerson (Stalmo) and Andy Stalmo. Sharon was later adopted by Glenn H. Johnson after her mom, Elinor, remarried. Sharon graduated from Rolla High School in 1966 and then married Wilfred "Bill” LaFrance on June 25, 1966 in Rolla, ND. After a couple of years, they moved to Renton, Washington where their daughter Sheila LaFrance was born. They lived in Washington for several years and then moved back to Rolla, ND to help with their family farm. They moved to Platteville, Colorado in 1978 and eventually moved to Greeley in 1990. Sharon loved animals, especially her sweet chihuahua Miley and her cat Snickers. Throughout her life she had many other pets she adored. Other hobbies included knitting and crocheting as well as listening to country and western music. She also enjoyed the company of her family including her great-granddaughter. As often as she could, she would be in the stands watching her grandchildren Mac and McKayla’s athletic competitions. Survivors include her husband, Wilfred "Bill” LaFrance; her daughter, Sheila (Scott) Helman of Greeley; her granddaughter, McKayla Bauer of Greeley; her grandson, McAlister (Briana) LaFrance of Evans; and her great-granddaughter, Mia LaFrance; her sister, Karen Johnson; her brothers, Jerrold (Rose) Johnson and Bruce Johnson of ND; her sister-in-law, Marilyn (Joe) Responte; brothers-in-law, Darrell LaFrance of WA and Alfred (LeeAnn) LaFrance of CO as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elinor and Glenn Johnson, Andy Stalmo; her grandparents, Sarah and Gunder Torgerson; her mother and father in-law, Marjorie and Eugene LaFrance; sister-in-law Shirley Bray.
