Sharon Lynn Harder
September 30th, 1959 - December 27th, 2017
Sharon (Sherie) Lynn Harder, 58, of Lynnwood Washington passed away on December 27, 2017 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was the wife of John Harder and they shared 35 years of marriage together. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was born in Lawrence, Kansas, the eldest of three children of Maurice and Janet Fishburn. She graduated from George Fox College in Newberg, Oregon in 1981 where she met John. They were married in Newberg in 1982. She was employed at Jack Henry and Associates as a credit card Fraud Analyst until her recent illness. She was very talented in her work, although her true passions were family and child care. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Edmonds and an active member of Bible Study Fellowship. She was an avid quilter and volunteered with Project Linus, an organization that makes blankets for agencies and organizations in need, and enjoyed teaching children in Sunday school. She had a passion for helping others and regularly contributed to World Vision, Smile Train, Heifer International, and Mercy Ministries. She always wanted a job holding preemie babies and wished that she could open her house to children who didn’t have homes. She will be remembered for her passion and empathy towards others. Her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator, dearly miss Sherie. She leaves behind her husband John, daughters Amy Harder and Melanie Carter (Lee), her parents Maurice and Janet, brothers Steve and Scott, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first-born daughter Sarah, brother-in-law Mikel, grandparents Sherrel and Loraine Watson, and father-in-law Paul (PB). A memorial is planned for 10:00am on January 20 at Edgewood Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2120 1st Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109.
