Sharon M McBride

Sharon McBride 1947–2021 Sharon Mosier McBride was born in Vernal, Utah, May 16, 1947, to Dale and Fern Mosier. She was raised in Salt Lake City and resided in Portland, Oregon, as an adult. She received a BA from University of Utah and an MBA from Portland State University. She worked for the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory and PSU Continuing Education Publications, as well as various privately owned companies, before she formed her own freelance business. Sharon faced serious health challenges, including a bone marrow transplant in 2005, with courage and a stubborn refusal to do anything other than survive, which she did for many more years than expected. She died in Portland, Oregon, on August 25, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Lyle McBride; sisters Marsha Anderson and Loretta Madsen; nieces Andrea Mejlaender and Sarah Togawa; and nephew, Benjamin Zafft. She was a founding member of The Group, a sisterhood of friends lasting 45 years. She was also a founding member of the adult soccer tournament team (MOJOs) support group, the Enablers, a close and connected community. Sharon will be remembered for her generous friendship, her uncanny organizational skills, her stubbornness, her superb cooking skills, her love of cats, and her sense of humor. She was a Master Gardener, with a lush flower and vegetable garden, and was a lifelong learner and avid reader. Because Sharon wouldn’t want anyone to be put at risk of Covid infection, her celebration of life will be held in the spring on a date to be determined.
