Shawn Aaron Brooks Jr.
August 11th, 1988 - September 16th, 2020
Shawn Aaron Brooks Jr. was born in Salinas, California to the proud parents of Kasey and Shawn Brooks. During his early childhood Shawn attended Loma Vista Elementary School where he made many lifelong friends. During his teenage years he attended Natomas High School in Sacramento, Ca and North Salinas High School in Salinas, Ca. Shawn was an extremely hard worker, and had many skills and talents, as he worked several jobs. He had many business goals and aspirations that he was about to embark on before his unexpected passing. Shawn leaves with us many beautiful and funny memories. He brightened up the room with his magnetic smile. His favorite saying since he was a little boy was “bedah bedaaah...” He had all his family and friends saying “bedah bedaaah...” He knew how to give his loved ones a good laugh, that made your stomach hurt from laughing so hard. Shawn would do anything for his loved ones. He leaves to cherish in his memory, his son Julian Brooks ,Salinas, Ca., daughter, Kianna Brooks Hayward, Ca, mother Kasey Brooks, Oakland, Ca, father Shawn Brooks Sr., Salinas, Ca, five sisters; Shavontay and Sasshay Brooks, Oakland Ca, Daisha and Syreeta Brooks Salinas, Ca, D’Jean Spicer, Charlotte, NC, one brother Marquis Brooks Salinas Ca., grandparents Lionel and Sherel Brooks, Cypress, Tx., Elizabeth Burks Charlotte, NC., great- great grandmother Daisy Easen Salt Lake, City Ut., and host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Keith Lamb and Great grandmother Elijia Lee and James Hill

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
