Rockledge, Florida Sheila Marie Cope Dahlstrom, 71, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at her residence in Rockledge. She was born November 13, 1939 in West Hartford, CT. to John and Margaret Cope. She was a graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford. She married October 15, 1960 to Donald Dahlstrom of New Britian, CT. She and her husband made carrier moves to New York City, St Louis, MO. and Elk Grove, IL, settling finally in Florida in 1990. She was a Librarian in Elk Grove, IL. in the public school system. She could always be found with a book in her hand and carried her love of books to the jail in Sharps where she continued with her Library skills by teaching inmates to read. She maintained her contact's with Connecticut through out her life summering at their summer cottage on the Salmon River, a place she dearly loved. She loved life and loved people and always kept in touch with her friends of a lifetime through out the country. She shunned the computer, always saying "" a hand written note was far superior to an e-mail."" She was mother to three children that she loved ! as only a mother can and she watched her children proudly grow into responsible adults and wonderful parents. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald; her three children, Kenneth and Cindy Dahlstrom of Norfolk, VA., Kathy and Keith Laufenberg of Pleasantville SC., and Kristine Dahlstrom of Cape Coral, FL.; her grandchildren, Billy and Alexa Dahlstrom, Margaret and Linzi Laufenberg of Rockledge, Lacee Puopulo of Elizabethtown, PA., Grace Dahlstrom of Cape Coral, FL, and Aubrey Gray of Poplar Bluff, MO. If her fragile and frail hands had the opportunity to say good by she would have sent notes of love to Jim and Paulette, Linda, Bill and Ann, Susan, Carol and Jerry, Shirley, Donna and Dave, Steven and Joyce, Karen, Stuart and so very many more! SHE WILL BE MISSED. A Prayer Service will be held at 2:00P.M.,Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, Viera, FL. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service.
