Sheila M. Gregory, 54, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012, in Greenville, SC. She was born on January, 10, 1958, in Columbia, SC , the youngest of three children of the late Jean Kelly Gregory and Robert E. Gregory, Sr.. She was a graduate of Hammond Academy and received Degrees in both Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. Ms. Gregory began her career as an electrician?s apprentice with REG Electrical Contracting where she advanced to Vice President and Project Manager. When her father decided to retire and close the business , she worked as Chief Electrical Engineer for Greenwood Mills, Greenwood, SC. Later she served as Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for Gilbert Electrical Systems, Greenwood, SC before moving to Greenville, SC , serving as Project Manager for W.E. Gilbert and Associates. Gilbert was purchased by Rust Engineering Company. Rust was later purchased by Ratheon Engineering and Construction. During her tenure with Ratheon she served as a Pharmaceutical Project Manager in Puerto Rico and Tampa, FL. Finally, she worked with Lockwood Green in Atlanta, GA as a Pharmaceutical Project Manager. Surviving are her father, Robert E. Gregory, SR.; a sister, Brenda Gregory Brodie (Judson); her best friend and soulmate, Denise E. Durban; a step-daughter, Elizabeth Hickman and step-son, Harrison Hickman; nieces, Diane B. Nape (Steven) and Elizabeth B. Schaufler (Jamie); a nephew, Joseph G. Stevens (Makiko); great nieces, Eli and Dylan Schaufler; great nephews, William and Peyton Nape and a number of cousins. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 9, 2012, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens. The family will receive visitors at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 847 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC for one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one?s choice.
