Sheila Gayle Sherry
February 7th, 1953 - January 3rd, 2016
Sheila Gayle Sherry Sheila Gayle Sherry died on January 3, 2016 at the age of 62 from lung cancer. Daughter of Earl J. Sherry and Beverly Sherry Ray, both deceased, Sheila was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla, WA on February 7, 1953. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Anastasia of Claremont, CA, brother James Sherry of Lacey, WA, sister Patricia Phillips of Walla Walla, WA, sister Mary Boynton of San Diego,CA, and Matthew Sherry of Saskatoon, SK, Canada, and by 12 nieces and nephews, and six grand nieces and nephews. Growing up, Sheila spent most of her youth on the family wheat farm. She graduated from Walla Walla High School, and attended Whitman College where she enjoyed studying philosophy. After two years she moved to New York City where she became interested in fashion. She returned to the West Coast, and married David Stedman of San Francisco, CA. The couple parted ways, and Sheila moved to Salem, OR with her mother. Sheila and Beverly moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1999, where she resided until her death. Sheila had a passion for couture and women's fashion which she demonstrated as District Sales Manager for Escada, and sales associate at both Neiman-Marcus and Ralph Lauren. She cared for her mother until she died in 2014, was was devoted to her dogs Lulu and Wolfie. Her final months were punctuated by weakness and pain, but she accepted her fate with grace and dignity. Her sisters and brothers were able to spend time caring for her at her home in Las Vegas. A family memorial service was held at Kraft Sussman Funeral Services in Las Vegas on January 6, 2016. Her ashes will be interred at the Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla.
