Sherman Klausner
April 12th, 1928 - August 21st, 2016
Sherman Klausner, a World War II Navy veteran, died in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 21 (17 of Av). He was 88. Born in Chicago, Ill. in 1928, he relocated to the Gainesville, Fla., area in 1996 to be closer to his son James and his family. In the wake of a serious illness and several operations, he moved to Las Vegas to be cared for by his son Victor. He was a man of many interests. His passions included: amateur radio (call sign K9BLX), playing saxophone, model trains, radio controlled airplanes, baseball, motorcycles, chess, and watching his favorite sports teams. He was a member of the Chabad of Summerlin community and frequently attended services with his son Victor. He was passionate regarding Torah study and had a strong personal relationship with Hashem. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Adria; his sons Steven Schwalb, Dr. James Klausner, Daniel Klausner and Dr. Victor Klausner; and his grandchildren Alexander, Noa, Louis, Nathaniel, Ari Klausner and Gina Li. He will be buried on August 23 at the Waldheim Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois near his beloved father Nathan and eldest son Robert.
