Sherry L. Shupert McKnight
September 18th, 1952 - June 14th, 2013
Obituary Sherry L. Shupert-McKnight, 60, of Lexington went to be with the angels and saints of Heaven on June 14, after a long struggle with cancer. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky September 18, 1952. She was the eldest daughter of William Alva and Edna Mae Lawson Shubert, both deceased. Sherry was a graduate of Lafayette High School. She was an avid lover of animals and loved to cook. Sherry served in armed forces, amongst the last recruits of the Women's Army Corps, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1974. She was a certified nursing assistant at Saint Joseph Hospital and at the occupational health clinic of Lexington-Bluegrass Army Depot at Avon, Kentucky. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her, as she was kind and generous person with a big heart. She is survived by her husband, Shafter McKnight, her sister Billie Murphy, Randy Dinkins, nieces Jamie Curtis (Michael) and Kristin Murphy, her aunt Lillian Newby, an uncle Bert Lawson (Terri), cousins Brenda Bellman, MarshaWall (Tom), Rebecca Altman (Brent), and Carrie Lawson. She is also survived by several second cousins, and grand nieces and a grand nephew. Pallbearers will be Michael Curtis, Randy Dinkins, Paul Wall, Brent Altman, James Spencer, and Ryan Wall. Honorary Pallbearer will be Eli Weisenbach. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, on Friday, June 21 at 7PM. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5PM until the time of service with Reverend Yoshiya Togami officiating. Family and Friends will gather at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Lexington on Saturday June 22 at 11AM for graveside services.
