Shirley Garcia

On June 16th, 2014, God called Shirley home to be with her parents, Librado and Estefania Vargas, brothers Trini and Bethel Vargas, sisters Josephine Alvarado and Elsie Vargas and her loving husband, Juan Garcia. Born August 22, 1929 in Colorado and lived in Monterey County for about 50 years mostly in Salinas. Worked in several occupations such as a field and shed worker, Greenfield Library and retired from Chualar School. Shirley enjoyed gatherings with all her friends and family especially with her great grandchildren; Samantha Caudillo & Cynthia Garcia, Teresa & Antonio Bailon, Abel and Isabel Bailon and Jonathan, Joan and Janessa Espiritu and Great Great Grandaughter Emery Garcia. Shirley also had the companionship of her loving care givers that cared for her around the clock; Griselda Tinajero, Teresa Oroz, Missy (Mezaab) Padilla and Fatima Aguilera. The family would not of been able to care for her without these wonderful care givers. We love you all and God bless you all; Garcia/Holguin/Bailon Familes. We Entrusted Shirley Garcia's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
