Shirley Knapp

Mrs. Shirley Knapp, age 76, formerly of Gloversville, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Uihlein Living Center, Lake Placid, NY. She was born June 7, 1936 in Fonda, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Rose. Shirley worked in various leather mills in the area and at the former Crocetta's Dry Cleaners in Gloversville many years ago. A devoted wife, she was married to Leonard "Bud" Knapp on December 24, 1969. Mr. Knapp died on November 5, 2006. Survivors include: a son, Wayne Collins Kim of Corinth; a stepson, Gary Knapp Janet of New Jersey; four grandchildren: Travis Collins Chequita, Wade Collins Kelly, Jeremy Knapp and Joshua Knapp; two great-grandchildren: Caylee Collins and Trey Stover. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 27th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Shirley loved her pets; therefore, please make memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
