Shirley Marie Perea-Lucero

Shirley Marie Perea-Lucero, 65, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on Friday, April 10, 1953 in Albuquerque to Jesus Perea and Grace Maestas-Perea. Shirley attended Sandoval Elementary (now called Corrales Elementary), Taylor Junior High and West Mesa High School. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kathy Elaine Lucero and her unborn son in 1989; her father Jesus Perea in 2006; and her sister, Theresa Rebecca Perea-Atkerson in 1980. She is survived by her loving mother, Grace Perea of Corrales, NM; her daughter, Yvette Theresa Stevens of Corrales, NM; her sister, Annabelle Perea-Aguilar and husband Frank of Littleton, Colorado; her grandchildren, Noel Elise Stevens, Joshua Jesus Stevens and Maya Grace Stevens of Corrales, NM; her nephew, Robert Atkerson and wife Andrea of Corrales, NM; nieces, Melissa Zamora and husband Carlos of Longmont, Colorado and Heather Flores and husband Jesse of Aurora, Colorado; grandniece Ashley Lynn Atkerson of Rio Rancho, NM, grandnephew Robert Zachary Atkerson of Corrales, NM, grandnieces, Julia Rose Zamora and Chloe Grace Zamora of Longmont, Colorado; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Corrales Community Center, 500 Jones Road, Corrales, New Mexico 87048 at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 14, 2018. The family would like to thank all the individuals (from ambulance personnel, emergency room personnel, nurses and doctors) who assisted Shirley in the final three days of her life.
