Shirley Marion Rocheleau
March 11th, 1937 - July 16th, 2012
Shirley M. (Commerford) Rocheleau, 75, of Tucson AZ, and formerly of West Haven CT, passed away on July 16, 2012, in Hospice Care at Devon Gables Healthcare Center. Born March 11, 1937 in Mount Kisco, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Howes) Commerford. She married her husband of 56 years, William K. Rocheleau on April 7, 1956, in West Haven CT. A 1954 graduate of Branford High School, she spent years as the mother to her six children, then began a new career caring for others as a certified nurse’s aide at Hawkins and Sound View Convalescent and Care facilities in West Haven. Talented and creative she enjoyed collecting, drawing and writing stories. She is survived by three sons, Michael and his wife Barbara(Currie) of Wallingford, CT, Thomas of Palm Bay, FL, Mark and his wife Lisa (Panulla) of Naugatuck, CT and three daughters, Susan and her husband David Dungan of El Paso, TX, Mary-Anne Petrini, and Christina Rocheleau of Tucson, and a sister, Frances Singleton of Concrete, WA and a brother William of MA. She also leaves behind her 9 beloved grandchildren. Donations in her memory can be made to the school located on the Tohono O’odham reservation run by the San Xavier Mission, a place she loved, at San Xavier Mission School, Attn: Eileen Preston, 1950 W. San Xavier Rd, Tucson, AZ 85746. Private arrangements for the family are being handled by Bring Funeral Home in Tucson.
