Shirley Ann West

Mrs. Shirley Ann West, age 82 a resident of Auburndale, FL passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. West was born November 17, 1940 in Houston, Florida to Henry and Monett Driggers. She was an Auburndale resident for over 70 years. Shirley was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Shirley was the Secretary for Lena Vista Elementary School for 35 years until retirement. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, sitting on her front porch swing, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Will Smiley West; brother – Herbert Driggers and 2 sisters – Joyce Chumney & Lettie Alderman. Shirley is survived by her loving family, son – Jaime West and wife Louise of Auburndale, Florida; 2 brothers – Malcolm Driggers of Georgia and James Driggers and wife DeDe of Auburndale, Florida; 3 granddaughters – Lacey Whatley of Auburndale, Florida, Hope Weant and husband Aaron of Cary, North Carolina & Kaylee Minaya and husband David of Trinity, Florida; 7 great grandchildren – Elizabeth, Katherine, Lily, Hattie, Gavin, Griffin, & Gabriella. Shirley was a believer and follower of Christ. Her family will miss her dearly, but rejoices in the fact that she has been called home to heaven. Her legacy of love will never be forgotten and her family will forever cherish the many wonderful memories of her. There are no services scheduled for Mrs. West at this time.
