Silas Henry Day
June 7th, 1943 - July 17th, 2014
Silas H. Day (Si) died at the age of 71 in Fruitland, Idaho July 17, 2014 in his home natural causes. Services will be held at the United Methodist Church, July 24, 2014 at 10:00 am, followed by a short graveside service at Riverside Cemetery continuing with a memorial Dinner. Pastor Christa Klosterman will officiate. Condolences may be made Silas' family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. Si was born from June 7, 1943 in Ontario, Oregon to the parents of Claude and Lois Day. Si married Kathy Martin on July 26, 1970 where they raised 3 daughters in Fruitland. Si was a long haul truck driver, owned businesses and a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, racing and rebuilding cars. Si is survived by his wife, Kathy Day. Daughters: Sherry Turner and husband Don, Donna Johnson and husband Skip, Krystal Priester and husband Levi, Debbie Brown and family, son Don Brown and family, Grandchildren: Amber and Matt Phipps, Mallorie and Tim Scott, Jesse Turner and Chelsea Johnson, Great Grandchildren: Bryson, Elijah and Cailynne, Sister Claudie and family, Brother Ron his wife Barb and family, as well as his pet Lucky. Si was predeceased by his parents and brother, Bill Day. Family would like to thank the Fruitland Police Department, Fruitland Ambulance Service, Payette County Coroner and Pastor Christa Klosterman for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the United Methodist Church Project Fund in care of Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel P.O. Box 730 Payette, Idaho 83661. Sleep peacefully Si for you will be missed by your wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids as well as all who loved and knew you. Service Details.
