Simon P Vitale
December 31st, 1927 - January 17th, 2018
A lifelong resident of Waukesha passed away on 01/17/2018 at the age of 90 years. He was born on December 31, 1927 in Waukesha, WI, the son of Joseph and Anna (nee Natalitzio) Vitale. Simon married the love of his life, Johanna ( nee LaFratta), on January 28, 1950. In following the 12 Step Program of AA, Simon had a spiritual awakening and he tried to carry this message to all in his daily life. Simon will be sadly missed by his children, Michael (Kerri) Vitale of Waukesha, Paula (Alan) Schulthess of Pewaukee, and John (Laura) Vitale of Pewaukee; grandchildren, Lacey (Michael) Collins, Karissa (Josh) Adam, Christina (Bill) Iwaskiewicz, Brianna (Shane) Kulp, Maria (Allen) Vitale-Echon, and Becca Vitale; and great-grandchildren Grace, Jack and Emma Collins, and Dominik and Owen Adam. Simon was preceded in death by his wife Johanna and his great-grandson Matthew Collins. The visitation for Simon will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday January 20, 2018 at St Mary's Episcopal Church 36014 Sunset Dr. The Rev. Fr. Scott Leannah will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Simon's name to Saint Joseph's Medical Clinic 826 N. East Ave.Waukesha, WI 53816, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight PO Box 636.Port Washington, WI 53074 or Alcoholics Anonymous District 32 P.O. Box 1891 Waukesha, WI 53187. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hartland Terrace Assisted Living for their loving care of Simon for the past 13 months.
