In Loving Memory of Stanley George Christopherson January 24, 1937 - December 18, 2023. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley George Christopherson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away at home surrounded by family on December 18, 2023. Stanley, aged 86, lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. Born in Yuba City, CA, on January 24, 1937, to James and Nylda (Hoppie) Christopherson, Stanley grew up on his family's ranch with brothers Rodney and Dudley Christopherson, and sister Nancy Jarvis. For the entirety of his life, he was proud he, his wife and his sister maintained ownership of the Yuba City ranch his maternal great grandparents settled in 1865. Stanley joined the Marine Reserves after graduating from Yuba City High School in 1954 and embodied the values of service, discipline, and honor throughout his life. Stanley was not only a proud American who loved his country, but also a diligent worker. For 45 years, he dedicated himself to a career in construction, where his strong work ethic and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues and superiors alike. His craftsmanship and attention to detail left a lasting mark on the structures he helped build, including his own family homes. Stanley was a member of Moose Lodge #1204 and Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau. Beyond his career, Stanley found immense joy in his family and friends, and cherished moments spent with them. He was a loving husband to his wife of 65 years, Jeanette, and a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. While he wasn't one to wear his heart on his sleeve, those who knew him best understood that his love ran deep. Reserved in expressing his emotions, Stanley had a unique way of conveying affection through quick jokes and his well-known sayings. Behind his propensity for joking and teasing, he was a man who cared profoundly for those around him. Stanley's love manifested in his actions - always ready to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it whether it was a home improvement project, moving, or needing advice. His wisdom, gained through a lifetime of experiences, was generously shared, becoming a guiding light for those seeking counsel. Among his family, friends, and neighbors, Stanley was also known and loved for sharing his fruit - white buckets of pomegranates, freestone peaches, oranges, and more - were always offered at each visit. Stanley had a passion for the great outdoors, and some of his fondest memories were made in the serene landscapes he frequented for duck and pheasant hunting. He was also a sports enthusiast, a lifelong loyal fan of the Raiders in football, and the Yankees and then later the A's in baseball. Whether in the stands or watching the games at home, he was a spirited sports fan with a playful sense of rivalry. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Christopherson; children, Kimberly Wakefield (Leonard), Jeffrey Christopherson (Lisa), Kari Santacroce (Paul), and Kris Duncan (Todd); 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Jarvis; and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nylda (Hoppie); and brothers, Rodney and Dudley. Stanley's legacy and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him. His contributions to family, community, and country serve as a testament to a life well-lived. May he find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who mourn his loss. A private family burial was held on December 29, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sutter County Museum or Adventist Health Home Health-Rideout in Stanley's name.
