Stanley Stephen Futterman, 90, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas, Nevada. Stanley was born September 4, 1925 to Charles and Rose (Hansen) Futterman, Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Colombia Preparatory School in 1943. Stanley served in the Navy and Marines during WWII as a corpsman. Following his service in the military he attended Cornell University and graduated from the College of Horticulture in 1950. He met his beautiful bride, Renee G. Lane at a social/dance in Roslyn, New York and they married in 1951 in New York. Stanley began a life-long career in the flower industry after graduating college. He was in business with his father as a grower, wholesale florist, and retail florist in Searington, N.Y. and New York City. Stanley and Renee moved their family to Phoenix, Arizona in 1971 and together they worked in the flower and gift business until he retired at the age of 84. Stanley loved to spend time with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. After their retirement they moved to Sun City, Summerlin where they were able to enjoy their lives until he passed this past month. He was actively involved in gardening, painting, watching his favorite baseball teams, boxing matches, reading historical novels and listening to opera. Stanley is survived by his devoted wife, Renee; daughter, Allison (Les) Berman; daughter, Linda Futterman; daughter, Karen (Robert) Bever and grandchildren, Rachel, Kearney, Rebecca, Michael, Hannah and Marlee. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Rose Futterman and his sister, Florence Sloan. A Memorial Service for family and friends was held at the home of Les and Allison Berman in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Funeral services and a flag ceremony were held on Tuesday, January 12, 20 16 at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Rabbi Bradley Tektiel officiated. "Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes and stories that we enjoyed together."
