Stanley B. Hellard
January 30th, 1939 - July 16th, 2024
Stanley B Hellard, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The husband of Virginia Frances Hazlett Hellard, Stanley was born January 30, 1939, to the late Edgar and Nora Cummins Hellard in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Stanley was put in the Kentucky Children’s Home after losing his dad when he was 3 years old and his mom at the age of 5. His best memory of the children’s home was when Roy Rogers took his hand while walking around. He remembered his big diamond ring on the hand he held and had hoped Roy Rogers would adopt him.
At the age of 17, he left to live with his sister, Ruth, and joined the Airforce, learning the trade of electrician. Ater completing his time with the Airforce, he reconnected with his siblings and extended family in hopes of getting to know them better. All of the Hellards were known to be happy go lucky and telling funny family stories.
He met Betty Lou Luntz, whom he married and had children with. They would make him a grandfather before his beloved Betty passed away in October of 2015.
Though 11 of his 13 siblings passed, he and his youngest sister, Martha, kept in touch with each other.
On January 6, 2017, Stanley married his second wife, Virginia Frances Hazlett, gaining more children and grandchildren, finding love and peace. His last days were spent with his combined family, surrounded by love and laughter.
Stanley was a hunter, dog runner, raised goats, chickens and birds. He loved to fish and go on trips with family. He also loved bargin hunting, gardening, and shopping.
He is survived by his daughter, sister, 3 grandsons, and their families.
In addition to his first wife, parents, and 11 siblings, Stanley was preceded in death by his 2 sons.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors was held for Stanley at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on July 30, 2024, officiated by Gilbert Wooldridge.
