Stanley Wayne Mosbarger

Obituary Stanley Wayne Mosbarger gained his angel wings on November 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was a long time Colorado resident since 1956. He was born on June 18, 1943 to the late Leta LuRose Hettler (Daniel Ralph Hettler) and Dale Mosbarger (Dorothy Mosbarger) in Kansas City, MO. Surviving are his loving wife Shirley Mosbarger, her son Tommy Locke, and daughter Nicole Locke. His brothers Brent Mosbarger (Eldene) and Richard Hettler (Beverly). His sons Paul (Dorene) Mosbarger and David (Annette) Mosbarger. His daughters Angela Jones, Wendy Kirk (Frank), Melodie Grace, and Pamela Titus (Jim). Grandsons Hunter Mosbarger, Colton (Robyn) Jones, Brandon (Kendra) Jones, Koby Jones, Tyler (Emily) Grace, Nathan Titus and Cameron Titus. Granddaughters Eden Paolino, Iris Mosbarger, Opal Mosbarger Courtenay (Chad) Engler, Blanche (Jeff) Kirk, Nicole Kirk, Lindsey (Chris) Curlette, Heather Miller, Amanda Grace, Kilynne (Tom) Brew, Shaelee Titus and Kadence Titus. Great grandsons Leo Jones, Jordyn Engler, Rhylynn Smith, Aydynn Smith, Gauge Avalos-Montez, and Conrad Brew. Great granddaughters Isabella Jones, Madeline Jones, Kaylei Engler, Willow Kirk, Alessa French, and Presley Curlette. He is also survived by his best friend for several years, Charles Douglas and dear friend Doug Erickson. Also numerous extended family members, friends and colleagues too many to name that he knew and impacted throughout his life. Stan was preceded in death by Leta and Fred Wilson, Dale and Dorothy Mosbarger, Daniel and Leta Lurose Hettler, Danny Hettler, Nina Marie Conlan, and Evelyn Rose Jones. Stan had many passions throughout his life, but his greatest love was always his family. Stan was a devoted and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a hard worker and instilled this sense of hard work into his children, teaching them how to make their own way. Stan helped many people in many ways, one of which was rebuilding and repairing cars for family members, and other people who needed a hand. Stan loved watching and supporting his grandsons Tyler and Koby playing hockey. Stans other loves included hunting, motorcycle riding, flying helicopters and watching the Denver Broncos and the Avalanche hockey team. Stan never knew a stranger, and his kindness and optimism will be remembered by all who knew him. Stan had a long and illustrious work history, once he decided to leave formal education during his 9th grade year. His first job was driving a truck. He worked on the construction of highways 67 and I-25. He worked for Weickers Trucking company for several years. He owned and operated his own semi truck before he joined the City of Colorado Springs Utilities in the water construction and equipment department. He worked there for 24 years, and while there earned his GED in order to move to a supervisors position. During his time at CSU, he did numerous jobs around the city, including construction of many power substations, roads, buildings, water treatment plants, and many other things. When Grand Island, Nebraska had no power after a tornado, Stan helped transport a portable substation there to restore power to the city. After retiring from CSU, Stan and good friend Frank Pence started their own trucking company, American Eagle. American Eagle was a profitable and successful company, which they operated for several years. Stan then worked for several years for R.E. Monks Construction company. After that, never one to be sedentary, Stan worked for Enterprise Rent a Car, driving to and from Denver several times a day. Stan had so many various jobs that he was good at, it is almost impossible to list them all here. A memorial service will be held at Anchor Baptist Church, 3125 Virginia Ave., on Thursday, December 9th at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow. Stan's favorite colors were blue and black.
