Mr. Stanley F. Novak, 78, of Broadalbin, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday March 7, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany, NY, following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 12, 1938 a son of the late Anthony and Bernice Draus Novak. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Amsterdam schools. He was a veteran and served in the US Marine Corps. Stanley was a professional painter by trade and was a member of the Painters Union #201 of Albany, NY. He was employed also for various businesses in the area which includes Quality Painters, and the US Government, KAPL in West Milton NY. Stanley enjoyed winters in Florida for over 13 years. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his beloved wife, Gloria Agresta Novak whom he married on January 7, 2000. Two children, Stanley (Sue) Novak Jr. of Maine and Tina Novak of Amsterdam. One dear grandson, Bronson Novak also of Maine. One sister, Clara Behuniak of Selkirk, NY. Brother and sister in law, Bill and Janet Agresta of Hagaman, NY. Nieces and cousins also survive. Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Iannotti. He was also predeceased by a brother Frank Novak. It was Stanley's request that there be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
