Stanley Sharpe, Sr.
July 13th, 1943 - October 1st, 2023
Stanley Oscar Sharpe, Sr., 80, of Lexington, SC, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on October 1, 2023. He was born July 13, 1943, in Red Bank, SC, to Oscar Henry Sharpe and Lillian Harmon Sharpe. Stanley spent most of his life in construction and was a devoted husband, father, and PaPa. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard and garden, coaching softball, woodworking, hunting, and fishing. One of his greatest loves, beside his family, was southern gospel singing. Stanley was known for his deep bass voice and sang with various groups and quartets throughout his lifetime. Most of all, Stanley loved his Lord. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patsy Elizabeth Roberts Sharpe, and a brother, Wyman Henry Sharpe, of Lexington, SC. He is also survived by his three children: Stan Sharpe, Jr. (Dottie) of Lexington, Sonya Bostic (Maurice) of Lexington, and Stephanie Noggle (Scott) of Aiken, SC. His grandchildren are Kendall Noggle, Kaylee Noggle, Halee Munsch, Heather Williams, Elizabeth Rohde, and David O’Quinn, as well as eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby brother, James Haskell Sharpe; sister, Jeanette Sharpe Smith, and sister, Frances Sharpe Smith. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 11:00am to 1:00pm with service to follow at 1:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd., Lexington, SC 29073. The Reverend Glenn Day will be officiating. Burial will be at the Sightler Family Cemetery located on Magdalene Ln. off Appleton Ct., West Columbia, SC 29172.
