Stephanie (Penny) Ann Betancourt, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children Sunday, November 29, 2020. Stephanie was survived by her loving family; (children) Anthony George Halcon, April Venessa Othon Monteiro (Steven Monteiro), and Angelic Marie Othon, (grandchildren) Melissa Ann Castro, Destiny Faith Monteiro, Scarlett Isabella Monteiro, Ariel Grace Monteiro, and Eva Victoria Monteiro, (sibling) Louie Betancourt (Debbie Bobian), nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and among a host of caring family and friends that will miss her very much. Stephanie is preceded in death by her Father George Betancourt, Mother Eva Betancourt, and Sister Erlinda Gutierrez. Stephanie was born on September 2, 1953 in Salinas California to George Betancourt and Eva (Mier) Betancourt. She lived in Salinas most of her life, attended Salinas public schools and graduated from Hartnell Community College. She developed a long-time professional career at Hartnell Community College and continued there until retirement. Stephanie had three children, five grandchildren and was a strong, resilient woman. Penny loved to laugh and have fun. She was always the life of the party and lit up a room with her smile, singing, and twinkling green eyes. She loved listening to her secret boyfriend, Elvis Presley and reading her drama, thriller, science fiction novels. Stephanie (Penny) Ann Betancourt will be missed dearly. We will celebrate her life with services at Healey's Mortuary. A viewing will be held December 10, 2020 from 1:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Mass will be held on December 11, 2020 at Madonna del Sasso Church in Salinas, California at 10:00a.m.
