Stephanie Lynn Seaborg passed away after living a life devoted to the service of children and others; she died at home peacefully after a long dance with Alzheimers. She touched many lives with her radiant smile and unwavering kindness. Stephanie was born in Warsaw, Indiana and grew up in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Riley High School and then attended Purdue University, where she earned a Bachelors in Sociology followed by Cornell University where she earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. She subsequently earned her Early Childhood teaching certification through Ithaca Montessori and worked at Ithaca Montessori followed by various Montessori and Early Childhood Education environments, ending at First 5: Contra Costa County before retiring on June 30, 2011. Stephanies curiosity and adventurous spirit brought her to many countries around the world and fed her interest in exploring different belief systems. In her later years, Stephanie committed to the practice of Buddhism at the Berkeley Zen Center, becoming an avid practitioner and completing the sewing of her Rakusu. Stephanie is survived by her adoring husband Christopher Price; devoted children Vanessa Horeis (Erich) of Martinez, Simone Price of Culver City and Miles Price (Hope) of Canyon as well as grandchildren Gretl and Felix Horeis of Martinez and Beau Price of Canyon. She is also survived by her sisters Pamela Lampel of Charlotte, NC, Christina Martin of Matthews, NC and Priscilla Seaborg of Portland, OR as well as several nieces and nephews. Her generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
