Stephen "Steve" Leonard Brittner

November 2nd, 1943 - April 27th, 2024

In loving memory of Steve

Stephen Leonard Brittner, (80), of Auburn, Washington, left this world to be with The Lord on April 27th, 2024, surrounded by people he loved dearly.

Stephen, who was fondly known as Steve, was born in Kellogg, Idaho in 1943 to Adam Eugene and Erna Evalene Brittner.  He was the youngest of three sons, brothers Rollin and Robert preceded him in death. As a young man, Steve was athletic and intelligent, and excelled in mathematics.  In January 1961, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He spent almost three years serving overseas in Libya, England, and several remote locations.  Steve specialized in Pneudraulics and Electronics and left the Air Force Honorably and decorated for his service in 1964.    Steve began a family in Portland, Oregon with Maureen Fay Barham.  Together they had two children, Mark, and Deborah.   The family moved to Canada in 1972, where Deborah still lives.  Steve later moved back to the U.S. to be closer to family and advance his career.  Steve had a successful and rewarding career as an auto/electronics technician, which he retired from in 2007.  After retiring it was his great joy to make an annual road trip to Texas to visit his son Mark and his family.  He loved to drive and see the country, and enjoyed eating at Denny’s every chance he got.  As he got older, Mark would fly up to Washington and ride back to Texas with him as his copilot.

In 2004, while attending college in Bellingham WA, Steve met the love of his life Judy McAlpine. They were soon married and finally settled in Auburn, Washington.   Judy has two daughters, Kim and Laura, whom Steve loved dearly. They were with him when he passed, along with grandson Nick whom Steve was very close to.

Everyone that knew Steve would all agree, his heart and capacity for love and kindness were enormous.  He was a doting husband and loving father.  He lived honorably and faithfully and loved The Lord.  He lived a long and adventurous life and left no regrets and no enemies in his wake.  He passed a happy and fulfilled man among people he loved dearly.

Steve’s loving spirit is carried on by his loving wife Judy, and children Mark, Debbie, Kim and Laura, and grandchildren Nick, Rocco, Jadyn, Sterling, Tatum, Jasmine, Jessica, Rhiannon. We will all miss you Steve
