Stephen George Floreck
April 29th, 1926 - April 17th, 2014
Floreck, Stephen George, born April 29, 1926 and died April 17, 2014 from Leukemia, he was 87 years old. Stephen was born in Detroit, Michigan to Hungarian immigrants. He served 24 years in the US Army and was assigned among other posts to Naval Affairs in London, England, American Embassies in Damascus, Syria and Wellington, New Zealand. His final four years of service was with NATO SHAPE, retiring as an E8 Master Sergeant. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts from University of Portland and went on to teach English for a number of years before retiring. Stephen is survived by his wife, Peggy Floreck of Canby, his daughter, Julie McLennan of Canby and his son, Paul Floreck of Portland. Stephen's Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, May 24th at Red Cross Building at Fort Vancouver, Washington from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
