Stephen Fred Franklin

Fred Franklin, 76, of La Salle passed away suddenly March 14, 2011 at North Colorado Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born August 26, 1934 in Eaton, CO to Stephen and Verna (Campbell) Franklin. He grew up in Greeley, CO on the family farm and graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1952. He married Isabel Hroncheck on February 3, 1990. Fred owned and operated Franklin Cycle Sales and Franklin Storage in Greeley. He was an original partner of the Flying X Ranch in Wheatland, WY where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and four wheeling with his family. Fred attended Greeley Wesleyan Church. He was a member of the Christian Business Men’s Club, and was a life member of the Greeley Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Franklin of La Salle; daughters, Patty Tousignant and husband Tom of Windsor, CO, Christine Hoff and husband Jason of Denver, CO; sons, Stephen Franklin and wife Michelle of Greeley, David Hroncheck and wife Sanna of Sweden, Michael Hroncheck and wife Kelli of Parker, CO; grandchildren, Devyn, Connor, Konnor, Makenna, Amelia, Elaine, Harley, and Andrew; a sister, Irma Kempt of Ft. Collins, CO; and a brother, Bill Franklin of Greeley. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Greeley Wesleyan Church, 3600 West 22nd Street in Greeley.
