Stephen Horohonich, aged 55 years, died unexpectedly on August 10, 2018. He was not only a loving husband, brother and great friend, but also a gentleman who was caring, kind and truly concerned for the welfare of others. He will be profoundly missed by many. He is survived by his wife Shirley Hebert, St. Petersburg, FL, and brother Jeffrey Horohonich, Saddle Brook, NJ. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Frank Horohonich and Anastasia Zdanowicz Horohonich of Manchester, NJ. Professionally, Stephen received his Bachelor of Science from Cook College, Rutgers University in New Jersey in 1985 and was a former faculty member of the Drug Information Association responsible for teaching a graduate course in Data Management. He went on the have a 33-year career in the pharmaceutical industry culminating with the cofounding of Cognitive Research Corporation where he served as the Chief Information Officer. Stephen also served as the Director of Data Acquisition and Curation at M2Gen, a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of Moffitt Cancer Center and was the cofounder and Vice President of Advanced Research Corporation. Previous to this, Stephen was Associate Director of Data Management at Covance and had six years as a Therapeutic Group Leader at Pfizer Inc. His industry career started with stints at Bristol Myers Squibb and Smith Kline and French Labs. Stephen was instrumental in the drug development industry assisting with seven new drug approvals and hundreds of clinical trials. Stephen’s personal life was enriched from trout fishing, basketball, bowling, and a bit of golf. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, Aug. 24, 2018 from the hours of 1:30PM till 3PM, at the Anderson Mcqueen Family Tribute Centre at 2201 Dr MLK Street N. Saint Petersburg Florida. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The American Cancer Society www.cancer.org or St. Jude’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
